ABOUT US

For over 70 years, not-for-profit Glenelg Community Hospital has steadfastly served the needs of our community. We receive no government funding or grants. But now we need your help with funding a new Sterilisation Facility that needs to comply with new legislation requirements and much needed new contemporary equipment.

To overcome this challenge, we are asking for donations. This is your opportunity to help ensure we can continue our vital work in looking after the health of our community.

Glenelg Community Hospital is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient, making all donations fully tax deductible.

CURRENT PROJECT

Glenelg Community Hospital has never experienced an incident or infection due to poor sterilisation processes. However, there is a new legislative requirement that means we must now comply with standard AS 4187, which covers the processing of reusable medical devices. Preliminary estimates to build a new sterilization facility that meets these new standards are expected to be around $8 million.

We urgently need your support to build a compliant sterilisation department. We have engaged architects to bring to life our future vision. The grant would be recognised as a cornerstone of the future development. To help offset some costs, we also have a strategy in place to provide the local health community with sterilisation services.

DONATIONS

Donations can be made on the website or directly to the hospital and are fully tax deductible. A receipt is issued for all transactions. When completing your details, include the project you are wishing to donate towards, in the comments box, your name and address.

BEQUESTS

A bequest to the Hospital, a gift from your estate through your Will, is a very valuable way to assist the Hospital's work.

The Glenelg Community Hospital values the trust of every bequest, by using them to enhance the value of the hospital in the community and benefit generations to come.

A person making a bequest may not wish to advise the hospital of their planned gift as it may not be realised until well into the future. However, we would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to thank the donor now for their intended generosity. On occasion, it may be appropriate to discuss the best way to use the intended gift and how best to acknowledge it when it is received.

A bequest may take a number of forms. It may be a gift of a specific sum of money, a percentage of the estate, or a gift of property such as real estate or artworks.

While you may draft a Will yourself, it is strongly recommended that you seek advice about the appropriate procedures from your Solicitor, Tax Adviser or a Trustee Company.

IN MEMORIUM

On occasion, family members may choose to ask relatives and friends to make a donation to the hospital in memory of their loved one.  Such donations can be used for the Foundation’s current project or a project nominated by the family.

For more information on In Memorium donations contact us on 8294 5555.
